Reptile Educational Programs

Educational programs in schools, libraries, special events, birthday parties, etc. can be a great way to heighten the imaginations of our children.  Opportunities to have one-on-one encounters with wildlife in a positive manner have been scientifically proven to help children have a greater appreciation for wildlife.  This greater appreciation often builds a higher respect and protection for wild animals.

What's new at HerpFanatic.com?

After some temporary down-time, HerpFanatic.com is back in action, but not without a few changes.  First and foremost is the new Ohio Reptile Service addition.  It has become abundantly clear throughout Ohio (among other parts of the U.S.) that there are herps in need of help and people needing education about them, this is why the Ohio Reptile Service was formed.  I aim to educate the public about the animals that drive my passion, aid Emergency Response units (police, fire, medic, etc) with any reptile related problems free of charge.  I am also here to help in cases of exotic reptile escapes and issues where pet reptiles are roaming at large.  Reptile rescue and rehabilitation will be yet another function of the Ohio Reptile Service and I am quite excited about it.

New reptile care and biology pages are soon to be added as well as new venomous snake-bite protocol links as soon as I can find some reliable treatment protocols.

Another exciting new change will be to the 'Crocodilians' page.  A new Biology section as well as a vastly improved captive care information will be added.  I am also looking to fill all of the empty spaces on the "species photos" page where there are no photos attached to the species link.

There is still much more to come, but due to a high volume of projects, I beg your patience and new changes will be made very soon.

My best to all,

Chris

If you talk with the animals, they will talk with you and you will know each other.  If you do not talk with them, you will not know them and what you do not know, you will fear.  What one fears...one destroys.
